How A Fashion Destination
Became A Brand Farm
In the beginning at Bohemania House, the shop founded in 2004 in the Franciscan
monastery's jewel-box Baroque chapel - in Czech, the "altan"- of the landmarked Franciscan garden, there was fashion. Bohemania drew artists and designers from across Europe, Africa and the Americas and Africa - hats from Equador, scarves from Cowolux in Paris, dresses from Antoine et Lili, carryalls and bags from the Brooklyn atelier of Baggu, the brand that has taken New York by storm, and not least, jewelry and accessories from Pragues's own designers. The shop was an instant hit. All these good things in a three-hundred-year-old chapel building in a rare bucolic setting in the very centre of Prague 1 naturally led to receptions, celebrations, art openings, open-air concerts in the chapel's own private-yet-public section of the Franciscan garden, surrounded by its own idyllic beds of lavender, sage, and perennials. The yew border hedges that frame Bohemania House are over two hundred years old. A setting like that steps away from Wenceslas Square does not exist.
Except, then as now, at Bohemania House.
What We Do Now
Like all the nourishing products of a farm, brands must be tended to grow. Fifteen years of staging fashion shows, producing concerts and openings for products, lines, individual designers and artists led Bohemania's principals to their expertise in expanding their lines' footprint in the markets. We could call that branding, but at Bohemania House we prefer to think of it as a celebration of the better things we find and use in life. For far more detailed information about our services, including our catering, please see our Services Page, but suffice it to say that, from album and book drops to product introductions, we do it all in our little house at the very centre of the secret oasis in the heart of Prague.
